Rolls-Royce Special Edition reveal at Pebble Beach

This year marked the 60th anniversary of the legendary Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Carmel, California. To celebrate the occasion, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars developed a bespoke Phantom Drophead Coupé at the company’s Goodwood manufacturing plant, UK. The car was unveiled at the event by Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös and Chief Designer Ian Cameron, and was sold within minutes.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has today announced that Torsten Müller-Ötvös will join the company as its Chief Executive Officer. He will assume the role at the end of March 2010 from Tom Purves, who will retire after 25 years service with the BMW Group.

Rolls-Royce announces 2009 sales results

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has today announced successful sales results for 2009, with 1002 cars retailed during the year. This figure includes the first 150 Ghosts, delivered to customers in December. Demand for the Ghost has been exceptional and the latest Rolls-Royce has been met with universal acclaim from customers, the media and enthusiasts alike. Around 85 per cent of Ghost customers are new to the marque.

Autumn 2006, Paris motor show: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announced that work had begun on a new model series. The new car would be in production and on sale by the turn of the decade. The only other facts confirmed at that stage were that it would be smaller than the Phantom saloon and priced somewhere between €200,000 and €300,000 before tax.
