Since 2003, Goodwood has become synonymous with the world's most luxurious motor cars. It is also a place where British craftsmanship is not just thriving, it's evolving.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars have always followed the ethos of founder Sir Henry Royce to 'take the best that exists and make it better and when it doesn't exist, design it'. The craftsmen in our wood, leather and paint shops proudly follow this philosophy, constantly pushing the boundaries of their craft to create beautiful and distinctive cars.

To celebrate the unique craftsmanship at work today, as we reach our 10th anniversary at Goodwood, we've created the Home of Rolls-Royce Collection. This exclusive collection of bespoke Phantom and Ghost models truly show that the future of craftsmanship is here at Goodwood.

    • 10 years of pioneering craft

      The exquisite marquetry seen in the Home of Rolls-Royce Collection is a fitting testament to the craftsmanship of Goodwood. The beautiful motif on the glove box has been created from 11 different types of wood including Sycamore, Holly and Satinwood. These represent the different woods that have been used in Ghost and Phantom interiors since 2003. Each piece of virgin wood has been milled and sanded by hand before being carefully coated with 5 layers of lacquer. It is then assembled using a combination of traditional craft and modern techniques.

    • Uniquely and lovingly created

      Each veneer created by our Bespoke team is like a fingerprint. It is totally unique to the customer, created with care and attention by the craftsman's hand. All of our veneers are stored in a humidor which is kept at 25 degrees and 80% humidity to allow the wood to breathe and remain supple. Each veneer will spend a minimum of 3 days in the humidor, before being lovingly fitted into a Rolls-Royce.

    • Marrying tradition and technology

      To bring to life the exquisitely beautiful and complex marquetry that our designers created for the Home of Rolls-Royce Collection, the craftsmen in our woodshop developed a new way of working. While continuing to use traditional woodworking skills, they applied lasers to ensure total precision in the alignment of each of the 170 separate pieces of wood along with the metal inlay. The result is the perfect marriage of technology and traditional craftsmanship.
