Audio Integration for iPod provides a fully integrated means of enjoying your iPod playlist

With its iconic design and flawless functionality, Apple’s iPod has rapidly become the definitive portable personal entertainment system.

In recognition of this we have developed Audio Integration for iPod. Offered as an option in addition to the standard Auxilliary-In Audio Socket, it provides a fully integrated means of accessing and enjoying your iPod playlist in the Phantom and Phantom Extended Wheelbase.

Once safely in its leather case and docked in the cradle concealed within the Phantom’s upper glovebox, the iPod can be controlled by both driver and passengers, using either the steering wheel buttons, the audio panel buttons or Multi-Task Rotary Controller.

With connection complete the iPod’s battery charge is maintained for non-stop play, while Apple’s familiar menu functions can be displayed on the Phantom’s front monitor. If iPod integration is ordered in conjunction with Rear Theatre configuration, the rear rotary controller can also be used and functions viewed through the rear monitor.

Though optimised for the latest 5th generation iPods, both the 3rd and 4th generation iPods will also work with the system. However, it should be noted that users may struggle to fit these thicker iPod units into the leather case. Likewise other iPods fitted with the 30-pin Dock connector socket are also compatible – such as the iPod nano and mini – but these will not fit securely in the leather case.

So successful is the Phantom’s Audio Integration for iPod that it wears the ‘Made for iPod’ logo, shown here. Not only does this indicate that it has been designed specifically to work with iPod, but it also enables Rolls-Royce Motor Cars to certify that the option meets certain Apple defined criteria.
