Rolls-Royce Wood

Although there is a wide selection of veneer types available through the Rolls-Royce programme, Bespoke offers the opportunity for owners to specify the use of individual veneer types. These can include the use of a new wood type or even the ‘staining’ or painting of an existing product in a colour of the customer’s choice.

Utilising the highly skilled craftspeople at Goodwood, customers may also request an alternative application of veneer cross-banding using standard wood. This might include a wider inlay or the ‘framing’ of a picnic table, door capping or instrument control panel.

Veneer personalisation is also available for the front cup-holders, rear ashtray lids, interior light-frames and c-post mirror surrounds. All four features (or a selection of these) can be finished in the exquisite cabinetry that adorns the rest of the Phantom’s cabin.

Further applications of veneer inlaying can be requested through the Bespoke programme to enhance the exquisite interior of the Phantom. Stainless steel pinstripes and mother of pearl inlays are two of the inlays currently available, although other materials will of course be considered.

Rolls-Royce’s interlinked RR monogram can be inlayed into all four door cappings and picnic tables. This inlay is colour-matched to the individual wood type, creating a discreet feature (12.5mm high) that highlights the intricate level of detail to be found in every car.

In a similar application, customers may choose to have their own initials and other personalised emblems inlayed into these cappings.

The Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Badge, as featured on the iconic Rolls-Royce grille, may also be onlayed into the door cappings, creating a raised profile upon the veneer.

The door cappings may also be inlayed with the Spirit of Ecstasy, Rolls-Royce’s universal icon, in either silver or black (appropriately coloured to compliment the veneer). Should customers require a raised feature in their door cappings, an onlayed three-dimensional Spirit of Ecstasy is also available.

The picnic table backs, a renowned feature of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, can be enhanced still further with the application of an inlayed, interlinked RR monogram or the continuation of cross-banding found throughout the interior to the tables.

Through the standard Phantom Options programme, the steering wheel spokes can be veneered to match the feature grain on the dashboard. However, those who wish to customise their steering wheel further can also have this veneer cross-banded with boxwood.

Marquetry inlays, identical to those found in the door cappings, may also be specified for the Phantom plate (to be found above the glove compartment). Personal name inlays and emblems may also be specified for this area.

Rolls-Royce Misc Interior

Upon special request, we can fashion the entire Phantom interior with wood that has been individually selected by hand and eye, then perfectly book-matched from a single cut of veneer taken from one single tree. This application is indeed a rarity, yet it provides a result that is unparalleled in its visual effect and extraordinary symmetry.
