A visionary home

Sir Nicholas Grimshaw
"Its location on the historic estate, with its long association with motor sport and craftsmanship, makes Goodwood a fitting home for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars." Sir Nicholas Grimshaw, Architect.
Creating a spiritual home for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars for the 21st Century meant more than just designing a building to house the headquarters and manufacturing plant. The challenge was to make it a symbol of Rolls-Royce's innovative approach - unique, forward-thinking and a world apart.
The result is an environment that blurs the boundaries through the use of natural materials and the latest technology. From the outside, you get a tantalising view of the assembly line through the 'Glass Mile' that runs the length of the building. The interior is naturally-lit from above, giving the assembly line and craft shops a studio-like atmosphere.
