Each set of veneers comes from a single tree to create a simple, seamless, flow of high-gloss wood from the facia through the whole car.
Beautiful wood in its most natural form adds a simple but striking finishing touch to the interior of the Drophead Coupé. There is 10m2 of wood in 37 different parts, each made up of 29 layers of wood, foil and aluminium for strength and safety. "I look for burrs and complex grains that add interest," says Dan Austin, Veneer Specialist.
Choose from a palette that includes burrs and straight grains including mahogany, elm, oak and rosewood, as well as the optional teak deck. Whichever you select, each piece will be carefully book-matched to ensure a flawless finish throughout.
Crossbanding is another technique employed by our craftspeople
They skillfully combine contrasting veneers and fine inlayed
boxwood beading to create a distinctive alternative to our single
veneer finish. It's a painstaking process that can take up to a
month to complete.
